As the leaves begin to change, so should your wardrobe. The seasonal switchover is indeed underway, and I love to witness the color palette suddenly turn over from neutrals, whites and pale pastels to fall’s signature jewel tones and rich hues. Summer browns become deep mahogany, kelly green is suddenly jade and picnic reds deepen to shades of burgundy found mostly in fine wines. The textures of fall are also more luxe—think soft touchable cashmeres, supple leathers, and cozy cabled knits — making it hard not to imagine walking in a bucolic setting, wrapped in an oversized cashmere something, pumpkin spice latte in hand with the smell of fireplaces ablaze and fall foliage crunching under your feet. But since the temperatures are still hovering around 100 here in LA, fall’s color palette is as close as I’ll get. For now.
