I love a new season. The weather is suddenly perfect for sleeping without AC, the air has a crispness, the sky an intense saturated blue—all telltale signs that fall is officially here. But toward the very end of each season, my closet of usual suspects inevitably looks tired and unappetizing and I am always left wondering how I stretched an entire season of outfits out of just. these. things. I remember my days in New York not being able to wait to send my everyday winter coat to the cleaners, then pack it away till next year or better yet, toss it altogether. But when the next year rolls around, once in a while, there is a surprise. A special new thing (with tags still attached!) that I had purchased at an end of season sale and forgotten about. A new swimsuit. A cover up. A new pair of jelly pool shoes that are ready to spice up my summer looks. So as you switch over your closet to chunky knits, woolens and tall leather boots and pack away those flimsy summer frocks, snag one of these discounted beauties to tuck away with them and look forward to a happy surprise next summer.
