Back to School

Despite the fact that LA weather has been reaching 103 degrees over the last several days (with seemingly no end in sight) it is officially back-to-school season. And though dreams of getting cozy in an oversized sweater with a great pair of tall leather boots while holding a pumpkin spiced something have been postponed until we’re able to feel that telltale fall crispness in the air, I’ve been eyeing some great transitional pieces to help ease the eventual switch from summer to autumn. On my list, DVF’s 50th Anniversary Silk Abigail Wrap Dress, above. I love its kitschy yet bookish vibe, especially when paired with a number two pencil, used to hold my hair into a makeshift bun. Other standouts are this H&M cropped trench, or this Mango one, this Show Me Your Mumu half-zip pullover, great for chilly mornings, this Commando faux leather belt ed midi skirt, this colligate oversized JCrew v-neck and this Maison Mayle denim midi skirt to pair with boots, a tank and a fitted blazer.

Tom Ford  Silk  Satin-Trimmed Cotton-Velvet Pants (great for going out alfresco with a cashmere. tank and   these   Parker Thatch   chunky chain necklaces, piled on.

Veronica Beard   Linen Blazer

Reformation      Raye Mid Rise Relaxed Shorts   with a cozy fisherman's sweater or oversized sweatshirt like  this   Varley          Half Zip Fleece

Marie Oliver     Faux  leather midi skirt

Toteme  Slim Embossed Leather Knee Boots

& Other Stories       Single  Button Cardigan  (also available in solid navy)

Tuckernuck   Leopard Harley Peacoat and Tuckernuck         Leopard Marlowe Dress

Cinq a Sept    Denim Blazer Dress (great over leggings or tights)
