The anticipation was HIGH. Life Of A Showgirl (Taylor Swift’s newest and 12th album) has been the hot topic in our house and trying to find something to wear to the three-day-only movie (and by movie, I mean the behind the scenes of making the video for her song The Fate Of Ophelia) was our latest drama. You see, Taylor’s albums all correspond with a color, and Life Of A Showgirl is…orange. “I need something orange! What do you have that’s orange, mom?” Um, nothing. Truly nothing. I had a Mr. Mittens orange knit poncho at one point, but I RIT dyed it navy in COVID lockdown. Which got me thinking that orange is a tough color. It can skew too bright. Contain too much yellow. Appear pumkin-y. And though Halloween is just around the corner, I managed to find some really great orange-y pieces that don’t look like part of a costume and that I wish I had in my closet as we enter our orange era. And while the album plays on repeat in our house and continues to grow on me, so has the color.
