Back to School
For me, the highlight of back to school shopping was the new pair of sneakers I’d get every year and how I couldn’t wait to wear them on the first day. I remember loving my new rainbow swoosh Nikes so much that I couldn’t sleep knowing they were right there in their shoebox next to my first day of 5th grade outfit, that I actually got up, put them on and wore them to bed. Fast forward to today where chandeliers for your locker is commonplace, and buying multiples of your favorite sneakers is “just a smart investment,” per my daughter. I do still love the ritual of shopping for school supplies to mark a fresh new start to the year with coordinating folders, notebooks, patterned pencils and whatever new accoutrement is the gotta have item.
