Fashion advise from Alexa Chung, wear stripes when it rains
During my years at MTV I worked on many shows from TRL to the VMAs and everything in between, but there was a short-lived show called It’s On With Alexa Chung, (which was Alexa’s debut in America) that was the most unique. It was kitschy, with Jimmy Fallon schtick long before Jimmy Fallon, but with the quintessential British charm of the UK’s smart and quirky Fashion It Girl. At that time, Alexa had lots of fashion rules and wearing stripes when it rains is always one that stuck with me. Somehow, it’s perfect and makes sense. So with all of the rain (or rather, atmospheric river) we in SoCal are experiencing, stay home, stay safe, and wear stripes.
