Drop Waist Maxi
The drop waist maxi dress seems to be the silhouette du jour and I am here for it. Loving these examples, especially the Solid & Striped black and white by Sofia Richie Grainge.
Sofia Richie Grainge’s collection for Solid & Striped had some stand out pieces, but the one I just had to have is the high neck, long sleeve maxi, below. It has that easy quiet luxury that Sofia has made famous, so I bought it knowing I needed the perfect thing to throw on for those in-between weather occasions, everything from a chilly May beach wedding to an early morning outdoor graduation ceremony in the midst of LA’s June gloom. I didn’t have anything in my closet like it. I do have to admit to having a tailor shorten it’s extra long sleeves and pooling maxi skirt for practical purposes, though it truly still maintains it’s casual unstructured elegance and now I seem to be seeing this cool silhouette everywhere.
